diary: online ridiculousnessHit the wild and wooly web recently for a tour of what's new... The Sex Tutorial Weblog. I don't know who named this, but it's far more salacious than its title would have you believe: Many organisms show a positive correlation between paternal quality and offspring viability. The authors claim that this can either be due to direct effects of paternal genes or indirect maternal effects. How might you distinguish which mechanism is operating? How did the authors try to distinguish paternal genetic quality from differences in maternal investment? What a disappointment. I was looking for some new tips! Luckily, my next find was a little more appropriate: Hardcore Victorian's Journal. Fun old pics. I love this stuff. I picked up an anthology of old French spanking photos a few years ago at the Everything To Do With Sex Show. As an aside. And a reminder to my fellow Torontonians that this year's show is coming up soon! Coconut Lipgloss: The musings of an agoraphobic sex chatline operator. Some funny stuff here: Me: "How are you today?" Oh my god, that was hard-going! Short, staccato answers in a difficult to understand accent with little or no info offered in return - that man had a severe lack of conversational skills. I pulled out all the stops and managed to snare him for about 20 minutes..no one is more suprised that I am. Amusingly, this conversation reminds me of a few men who I've met online. Not that I knew any of them for very long. :) At least Lipgloss is paid for her work! Trying to find sex-positive news stories through Google is, I've decided, impossible. I searched for sex. The results were littered with sex offender trials, sexual harrasment, the like. I started to add booleans to remove the words I didn't want:
sex -victims At this point Google decided to inform me that their searches can only handle up to ten words. I give up. Sex positive news is apparently not for sale. :) 2003.10.29 08:53 AM comments on this entry |
